FOREX end-of-week update (20-24 Apr 09)

Managed to close and secure profitable trades for the week if not for the 3 trades held from last week, which caused my overall result for the week to be negative. Nevertheless, I learnt valuable lesson through these trades and it had been etched into my memory. Will have to hang on and trade through the week to regain back to USD1000, my short term goal. From there, I will double my account and so on... ;p

I would like to take this opportunity here to thank the few forum members who had gave me strength and encouragement whenever I'm down and also taught me along the way the tips and tricks in trading FOREX. They are mac1, OxyGen, tendencia, dodomarket and of course not forgetting the ONE that introduced me to the forum, kodeb.

It's because of their constant reminder and encouragement that gave me the motivation to strive to do better. I had also seen myself gaining experience and getting better result through their guidance. The best thing about them was that they never really teach me but instead steer it out of you. Just like a counsellor, listening to you and helping you summarise what you had said and hence showing you that you were capable of giving an answer to whatever question you raised yourself.

And so to the regulars of Singapore Forex Forum (SFF), I show my deepest gratitude and appreciation and hope that you will continue to guide me along the way. Wishing all of you happy pipping!!!

FOREX end-of-week update 13-17 Apr 09

I am making great progress this week and last week, however I still have to take note and be cruel and discipline to cut loses for some of my trades. For instances, end of this week, I have 4 trades still open and 3 of them are goner, with an average of 100 pips lost. Seriously, I have to cross my fingers and hope that the market reverse next week... :(

Why are we working so hard?‏

On the very first day of the world, God created the cow. He said to the cow: 'Ah Gu (cow), today I have created you! Your job is to go to the field with the farmer all day long. You will provide the energy to pull things! You will also provide milk for people to drink! You are to work all day under the sun! In return, you will only eat grass. For that, you will have a life span of 50 years.'

Ah Gu objected. 'What.. I work all day in the sun and I get only to eat grass! On top of that, I have to give my milk away! This is tough and you want me to live 50 years! I'll take 20 and you can have the remaining 30 years back!' God agreed.

On the next day, God created the dog. He said to the dog. 'Ah Kow (dog), I have created you for a purpose. You are to sit all day by the door of your master's house! Should anyone come in, you are to bark at them! In return, you will eat your master's leftovers. I'll give you a life span of 20 years.'

Ah Kow objected. ' What! I have to sit by the door all day and will need to bark at people, and what do I get...LEFTOVERS... This isn't right, I'll take 10 and you can have the remaining 10 years back!' God agreed again.

On the third day, God created the monkey. He said to the monkey. 'Lao Kao (monkey), your job is to entertain people. You will make them laugh, act stupid and make faces! You will also do somersaults and swing on trees to amaze them. In return, you will get to eat bananas and peanuts. For that, I'll give you 20 years to live.'

Naturally the monkey objected. 'This is ridiculous, I gotta make faces and make people laugh let not even come to the part about the trees and somersaults. Tell you what, I'll give 10 years of my life to thank you for my existence and I'll take 10. What do you think?' God agreed again.

On the forth day, God created humans. God said to the man. 'You are my best piece of work, for that, you will only need to sleep, eat, sleep, play, eat, sleep again and do nothing else. You will get to eat all the best things and play with the best toys. All you need to do is enjoy all your life. For this kinda of life, I'll give you 20 years.'

Just like the rest, the man objected. 'What, all I need to do is relax and enjoy myself and I have only 20 years to live? Tell you what, you've 30 years back from Ah Gu, 10 years from Ah Kow and another 10 from Lao Kao and you probably don't know what to do with all those lifes. Why not I take them all and I'll have 70 years to live?'

God being such good natured, agreed with a smile..... AND THAT IS WHY..... We eat, sleep, play and enjoy for the first 20 years of our lives when we are growing up. Work like a cow for the next 30 to raise our family. Sit outside the door and bark at people for the next 10 when we are retired. And finally, we make faces and perform monkey tricks to entertain our grandchildren for the final 10 years. GET IT ?????

FOREX end-of-week update 3-10 Apr 09

Good Friday Week...

Good Friday is tomorrow and I am working. Having an event for our members, had been running around the island this few days to ensure that thing will goes smoothly for them tomorrow. After tomorrow, over the weekends, its ST Marine SAFYC Regatta again. For consolation, after this week, I heard things are going to slow down abit... phew...

Today happens to be SC's birthday (since she had never like people to mention her name, I shall just use the initial), at the stuck of twelve midnight, I SMSed her wishing her a happy birthday and best wishes. I got her reply almost immediately asking who I am. I hold on to my phone and ponder... should I reply or should I not.... It ends up I decided not to reply, to me since my objective was to wish her happy birthday and that objective had been met in my first SMS, I don't think it's necesary for her to know who I am, unless she persist by sending another SMS. I just find it interesting for one to forget another over months... For me it would have been years, I really can't tell how long it will take for me to forget a person, cause I dun think I really ever had. Of course needless to say if you never meet or contact the person for years, you will but still there's impression of that person. In this case, it's just so different...

Friends, please dun be worry with this entry, I am perfectly alright and had definitely got over it, though I do not deny, at times I still think about it and wonder why things turn out this way. What is it that I had really done that resulted in this? Whatever it is I am already or had moved on...

FOREX end-of-week update 30 Mar to 3 Apr 09

Overall, consider quite a good week though it's negative. Made some gains throughout the week and from the summary, you can see that the percentage of P&L is increasing steadily. First day of the week, I made some substantial losses and it make me ponder on my trading system. I asked, search and fine-tune my system. Nevertheless, some commented that since I'm scaplering, I shouldn't limit myself daily. As long as I can stay in front of the monitor just trade, I am still having a negative open trade, I engage the trade but was called to go away from my desk and when I came back, I realised that I could had taken profit for the trade and exited before the market turn around. Bad luck... Now just have to constantly monitor it and to cut loss if it really never return back to BE.
