Yet another week had past...

Time sure past in a flash when you are busy and have alot to do...

After a busy week, I went to watch KungFu Panda 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides.  The shows doesn't come easy actually... I went to Orchard Cineleisure and it was full as well as sold out for the shows that I wanted to watch, so I had to walk to The Cathay and the next timing show was also sold out.  Nevertheless, decided to queue for the next show, which mean I can only catch one show.  Finally during my turn, I was told that there are still scattered seat available so I took it up, anyway I'm alone as usual.  So, it was KungFu Panda 2 first, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean 4...

Enjoyed both shows and took a cab home after midnight...  Had a good sleep and wake up earlier on Sunday to attend Noreen's Wedding at The Capella in Sentosa.  Did not manage to catch Grace in advance and had to make my way to Sentosa, by cab because I was still late ;p

Enjoy the wedding lunch with the company of Grace and Edwin, been a while since I met the two of them.  The lime light of the day, Noreen, I am very happy for her knowing that she had found that Mr Right in her life.  Took a few pictures together and had her solo shot to track how long she will stay that slim... haha... She was slim when I knew her lah actually... just that during the period when we did not really contact she other, her 身材 really 走了样 hehe... and imagine when I met her just few weeks ago, she was still.... and now...

The following week was again hectic and in fact many unpleasant things happened too.  I lost my temper, showed attitude and many many unpleasant things... All because of the stress and the hectic at work plus matters at heart.  I could had handled all those stress well, but judgement was clouded because of matters at heart, as was told to me by my friend, I will not be naming him here so as not to complicate matters, just in case.

I was glad to have him telling me what he had told me and also the extra sharing of my bazhi...  I learned alot about myself as well as what I need to do.  Nevertheless, all those sharing still did not stop me from wondering and thinking in the night.  However, it put it to myself that that was going to be the last night of insomnia or at least late night.  It took me some courage and I wrote an email to the party involved asking for her understanding and forgiveness.  I hope for a reply but till now did not receive any, but it's okay as I felt better and things are also better then last week.

Though I still feel the burning pain in me sometime, I tried not to be bothered by it and also learnt to be slightly opened about it.  In that week, I also took the bold steps towards being smoke free.  Having know that I am not going to succeed by myself, I decided to call QuitLine for help.  I am determined and taking progressive to quit my smoking.  Target had been set and put in place, execution had been enforced as well, now I just need to stick to plan and carry it out religiously to ensure it success.

Of course, I will also need alot of support from friends and love ones.  Most importantly, the best support will be from you.  I dun think she will be so free to drop by here but if she does, please let her know that she will give me the best support not only in quitting smoking but in all things...

14 May 2011 - What a rare saturday!

Saturday 14th May 2011, a very rare saturday for me since it was only 3 hours of work and spend sometime with groups of friends / colleagues.  Anyway before I continues with my saturday, I shall start with Friday the 13th...

Interestingly, while recalling the events for put into this entry, I realized that first time ever did I felt this way.  I am not superstitious, it's just coincidental and most probably I can get to blame it on the day itself - Friday the 13th.

I got home from work on thursday night, reaching home at about 1am, meaning it's already Friday the 13th morning.  I realized that I had left my keys in office and had to call to wake up my family to open the door for me.  What a way to start this Friday the 13th!  As usual, I did not wake up on time the following morning and had to get a cab to work.  Best of all, I had my biggest lose of the week, giving back all my profit made the past trading week to the market.  Now I have to start from scratch again. :(

So is it really because it's Friday the 13th?

Nevertheless, I had a great saturday having to work only 3 works and get to catch a movie at The Cathay with FDO, YIN and VAN.  After tidying the office, we took a train to The Cathay and meet up with YIN before proceeding for our lunch at Popeyes and watched the movie Priest.

The movie wasn't really fantastic, maybe our expectation was too high.  After the movie, we went to Plaza Singapura Swensen's for ice cream before parting our way home.  I went to Sengkang - Jalan Kayu to meet up with Ronghui, Yingshun, Petrina, Edwin, Desmond and his wife for dinner.  Mikaela was the only kid and I took a few photo of her, an usual thing I do whenever I meet up with them.  Looking at the photo, you really see how fast they grow up and also realize how fast time has flies pass.
After the dinner and drinks, went home and I ended a great saturday.  Having a good ends to this rare day, let me add on another piece of good new.  After having working so hard for the past year and seeing the company growing and finally expanding, I am also finally getting offered for a regular employment with basic salary.  After having almost a year of hourly rated, but I kinda like this way of rewards, you are being paid for what you worked for and I get to maximize my salary as well, haha... Anyway it's a good offer and I am happy with what I am doing, of course I am also planning of something and hopefully being able to put it into execution soon.  Also not forgetting, I am trying hard cutting down on the number of cigarette I am smoking each day and hopefully totally quit by the end of the year.  I am not forcing myself as I know cold turkey is not going to work for me anymore, hence will have to do it the right way and slowly get it out of my system.

Trading as a profession / asset class

What so great about trading FX as a profession / asset class?  Apart from being able to earn quite a bit, of course it have to do with my passion.  I have a great passion in FX trading ever since I started.  Taking up a course with FX1 Academy and thinking that with what they taught in one full days would make me trade and earn money was naive.  Nevertheless, the exposure and opportunity that was created had gave me great insight and eventually something I build on for my future.  I chance upon the trainee dealer program by Six Capital PTE LTD a year ago and after attending their talk, I see a different light on trading FX professionally.

How many such chances do we have to learn this skill side by side with someone who was a Chief Dealer with big banks before?

Many had the wrong idea of trading FX for a profit, such as letting your profit runs cutting your losses fast, using indicators...  Not that all these sayings are wrong, but the fact that traders don't write and writer don't trade does tell me that we cannot believe everything we read from books or net.

Taking small and consistent profit is very much the key to success in FX trading.  Pick this skill of SPOT FX trading and use the profit take intraday position and strategy position will help you make hugh amount of money.  I had not been focusing on my SPOT trading but currently experiencing strategy position and learning intraday position taking.  Following the strategy had help me make good profit and grew my account equity quite a bit.

Having to explain why one should be a professional trader is difficult, maybe I am just not a good writer, have language problem, does not know how to put them into words.  But I guess the key motivating factor now seem to be the amount of money I can earn by trading not just my own money but other people money as well.  And it is by trading other people money that will help you to make the most money.

First Blog Entry of 2011 - Run 350 & Movie Marathon

Wow!!! It's almost 5 months since I last posted an entry here...  Obviously I had been busy or rather lazy, busy working on my resolution set out to be accomplished in 2011, lazy for having worked so hard everyday and just want to take a break when not working.

Anyway finally I took up my running shoe and went for a run on Sunday morning in support of a Green Project by Singapore, Run 350.

Woke up and took a ride with Yingshun, Ronghui and Youxing to the starting point.  Parked at market street and took a walk over to the starting area, marina promenade.

Getting ready for the run...

We had past our flag off time and many were already getting ready for the next category to be flagged off.  We continued on to the starting point and race off...  The run route was good as I get to pass by places I had not been to yet, MBS and the link bridge linking MBS and Marina Square...

Link Bridge

Singapore Flyer & F1 pit stop building

Marina Bay Sands

All in all, I completed the 10km run in 1 hour 15 mins thereabout.  Quite an accomplishment actually, taking into consideration that I haven't been working out for a good few months...  After the run, we took a ride to Joo Chiat for our breakfast before returning home.

Taking a breather

Race Bib & Medal
=====================================================

Been a long time since I watched a movie, and once I started, I just can't have enough of it haha...  The first movie I watched was the World invasion, Battle LA, good action movie.  Last night I went over to The Cathay after work and watched THOR in 3D.  The movie was great and having it in 3D is really fantastic.  After the movie, it was still early and I decided to watch Arthur.  It wasn't as good as expected, yes it was funny but I think the storyline was a bit rushed at the back probably due to time limitation.

More movies coming up... Pirates... Fast & Furious... Kungfu Panda 2... many mores!!!

2010 Reflection & 2011 Resolution

The end-of-the-year is coming again at a blink of an eyes.
Time to do some reflection and set goals & resolution for the year ahead...

What had I accomplished in the year 2010?  NOTHING!!!  OMG, seriously speaking, I had not really accomplished anything for the past one year, apart from setting the ground for my "future".  Good and bad, depending on which angle you are looking at.  I am no longer as young as before and having to build and set my footing again at this age hadn't been an easy task.  Nevertheless, I had to stand firm and keep moving ahead so as not to fall too far behind.

With what I am currently involved in and working on, I am quite happy and optimistic.  I just hope all is not just a dream.  Remembered "DARE TO DREAM", but please be realistic and set goals that are reachable but also scalable.  I am seeing the expansion of my company coming true and hopefully I will also get to expand on my capacity and of course get a better pay check every month.  And this is going to take quite some time to build and I cannot just sit and wait for it to happen.  I was told to keep an open mind for other opportunities, and my reply had always been "okay".  And I dunno whether it is right or wrong, good or bad, maybe if I become what I want to be is right & good, but if I do not then it wrong and bad. Wouldn't that be too late then?  I have no comments, all I know is I am following my heart and having hope that I had the right judgement and insight.  It's a bet no doubt!

What's in for 2011?  At the end of the year 2011, I am going to come back to this blog entry and take a note of what I had resolute and whether I had accomplished them.  In order of priority,

1.   Expand with my current company and continue grow with it.
My company is going through expansion and I am more then ready to grow with it and of course get promoted and have a bigger pay check.  Contribute my best effort and of course to benefit myself in term of character building and skill enhancement.

2.   Produce better trading result.
Not necessarily need to produce result that are meeting the benchmark set for employee traders, but more for myself.  Of course meeting the benchmark constantly and getting employed as a contracted trader would be a dream come true, but I rather take it one step at a time.  I just want to be profitable every month consistently and constantly.  Increase my confident in myself in trading and to be able to trade larger volume, hopefully the profit gain could supplement my income SLIGHTLY.  Just how slightly is good enough?  Most probably to afford an extremely good meal would be great!

3.   Become debt free or at least cut them by half.
With what I am getting every month currently, it sound like a mission impossible to me to accomplish this resolution I set for myself.  But with my search for extra income stream apart from my "full time job", I am quite sure I would be able to make it or at least reducing it to half the sum now.  If I manage to cut it by half, I would have been extremely delighted and pleased with myself.

Imagine, in simple calculation, which all banks or institutions will used, it would be taking me more than ten years to clear my debt.  Hence if I am able to clear it by half, shouldn't I be extremely pleased with myself?  Of course, hard work and effort come with it, and if I make it, I am very sure many people is going to ask me of my success methodology.  Before I reveal it, I think it's only right and ethical to test it out myself first.  Once I get the result and start to reduce my debt month-by-month, week-by-week, day-by-day, then it's time to share my success with all my friends and eventually all that are in need!

Resolution for the new year (2011) hadn't changed much compared to this year (2010).  I had spend half the year (2010) searching myself and understanding what I had really wanted deep in me.  In fact, what you really wanted had always been inside you, but we always fail to see it clearly until we do some serious soul-searching.  Now that I had found it, I told myself not to give up, no matter how hard the path ahead is going to be.  Of course there will be challenges that will set you back so as to make you give up, but as long as WE PERSEVERE, SUCCESS WILL BE OURS!!!

Never know that my secondary education motto will come back and haunt me for a GOOD PURPOSE, and I thought I learnt good experience when I was in the RSN, coming out of regular service with DARE TO DREAM!

In summary, it's...

DARE TO DREAM
AND
SUCCESS THROUGH PERSEVERANCE
THAT WE FULFILL AND LIVE OUR DREAMS!!!

Trading Result for December (1-9 Dec 2010)

It had really been awhile since I update my blog with my trading result, especially so after I joined Six Capital as a Trainee Dealer.  Sad to say, I had yet to meet the benchmark to be hired by the company, but as many who know, I am currently employed as their Executive Officer looking after their trading operation and some Administrative task.  I enjoyed myself doing all the task I am put in-charge and also at the same time making progress in my trading skill.  I never thought I was a slow learner, but when it come to trading, I really have to admit that I am not only a slow learner but an extremely slow learner, haha...

Nevertheless, no matter how slow l am, I still see progression in my trading and that matter MOST!  I am improving...  From trading DEMO with daily losses to LIVE trading with still daily losses, until now I am seeing more profitable days and they are consecutively.

This show my accumulated result for the month of Dec 2010 from 1st till 9th

And these are my daily result... (the two empty lines are weekends)

Seriously, nothing really fantastic here but it's just an encouragement for myself that I am progressing slowly but moving forward toward being a professional trader.

I had these thoughts before on if I do not make the mark but a long time, what would I do?  I had make plans for myself and I will discuss about this in another entry.  I am also currently trying what something to supplement as my secondary income.  Many will say I am crazy when they find out what it is, and nope, I am not revealing until I made my success...

"Success through Perseverance"

Mey reminded me Bedok Town Secondary School motto, dunno whether I had remembered it correctly haha... but should be correct no doubt, even if it's not, shouldn't be too far off.

Compared to months ago, I am definitely better off now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and walking and moving towards it.  I am very sure one day I will reach the end of the tunnel and be embrace by the warm light over the other end.... ;p

FOUR Levels of Wealth

There are basically four levels of wealth you must aim to attain.

Level 1: Financial Stability
The first level of wealth is known as financial stability.  This is the most basic level of wealth that you must first attain.  You have achieved Financial Stability when:

1. You have accumulated enough liquid assets to cover your current expenses for a minimum of six months.
2. In addition, you have life and hospitalization insurance to protect you and/or your family's lifestyle should you be permanently disabled, unable to work or if you pass away suddenly.

When you have attained this first level, you will have the peace of mind that should any unexpected challenges befall you (like retrenchment, business failure, pay cut, death or disability), you and your family's lifestyle will not be compromised. Or worse, you or your family will not slide into debt.Once you have achieved this, you must then aim to achieve...

Level 2: Financial Security
You have achieved Financial Security when you have through the investment of time, money and ideas, accumulated a critical amount of Positive Cash Flow Assets that generate enough passive income to cover your MOST BASIC expenses.

In other words, when you reach this level, you can stop working and maintain a very basic lifestyle. It also means that if you continue working, all your active income can be channeled towards your investments and this will further compound your assets and increase your in-come streams.

Of course, we shouldn't be satisfied at being at this level. Once accomplished, you must then aim to go for...

Level 3: Financial Freedom
Many of us have heard of the dream of achieving financial freedom but what does it really mean?

Well, Financial Freedom is when you have through the investment of time, money and ideas, accumulated a critical amount of Positive Cash Flow Assets that generate enough passive income to sustain your CURRENT LIFESTYLE.

When you reach this level of Financial Freedom, you can choose to stop working and still maintain your current standard of living...indefinitely! Finally, you must aim to achieve...

Level 4: Financial Abundance
So what is the ultimate level of wealth you can achieve?

Financial Abundance is when you have through the investment of time, money and ideas, accumulated a critical amount of Positive Cash Flow Assets that generate enough passive income to sustain your DESIRED LIFESTYLE. Your desired lifestyle is the amount of monthly expenses it will take for you to live the life of your dreams. This is totally subjective depending on the lifestyle that you desire.

If your desired lifestyle is to live in a 20,000 square-feet bungalow with a swimming pool, send your kids to the best schools and drive a Mercedes Benz S-Class, then you could be looking at a monthly lifestyle that'll cost a cool $50,000.

Of course the more luxurious your desired lifestyle, the longer it will take for you to achieve financial abundance. The moment you reach the level of Financial Abundance, you will be able to choose to stop working and live your dream lifestyle indefinitely.

Again, most people who do reach this level usually love what they do so much that they keep on working for fun, channeling 100% of their active income towards charitable causes and further compounding their wealth.

With the right strategies and plans in place, you too will be able to achieve this ultimate level of wealth.
